MOBILE DISPENSARY SEVA

Bhartiya Jain Sanghatana, Desh Apnayen & CREDAI MCHI have collectively in association with MCGM have taken initiative to start Mobile Dispensary Seva Vans in Mumbai.

Mumbai, 28 April 2020: To begin with 5 mobile seva vans have been kick started today at NSCI Worli at 11 a.m which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mayor Smt. Kishori Pednekar along with Mr Ashish R Chemburkar, Corporator, Smt.Snehal S Ambekar, Corporator.

Subsequently, it will be scaled to 100 vans within a weeks time.

We have successfully screened & given free medicines to more than 1 lakh patients. Amongst those checked, more than 1000 highly suspected corona patients are referred to government hospitals at their respective places.
Mumbai happens to be one of the most vulnerable city for corona virus and therefore the need to start the Mobile Dispensary Seva in Mumbai. All the necessary government approvals are taken for starting the dispensaries. Our team had a long fruitful discussion with the Additional Commissioner and the Assistant commission of MCGM as well as with all corporators (Public representatives) of Worli ward. They all have willingly agreed to extend full support & co-operation in the said matter.

Mrs. Kishori Pednekar, Mayor, MCGM wished the entire team all the best and said, “Mumbaikars to check themselves through this van and to avoid, going out of the house, for their own safety. She also expressed confidence that we will overcome Covid 19.

 

Mr. Nayan Shah, President, CREDAI- MCHI: “We strongly believe that this joint initiative will not only decongest traffic in Mumbai Hospitals but also flatten the Covid 19 curve in the city.”


Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS), a 35 years old organisation founded by Shri. Shantilal Muttha has been in the forefront of addressing national concerns pro-actively in disaster management. BJS started mobile dispensary SEVA vans in Pune on 1st of April and have till date it has scaled up to 80 dispensaries. These vans are successfully running in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamilnadu In context to Mumbai, he said that this is just a beginning and we will scale up to 100 vans in 10 days. He was concerned to help the people who are facing a lot of issues in the red zone which needed special attention and thus he proposed to daily test 25,000 patients after 10 days, said Mr Shantilal Muttha, founder, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana BJS said.

Vallabh Bhanshali, Founder of Desh Apnayen Foundation, said, “We will definitely win over Covid 19. To this end, we are working together. This mobile van will greatly benefit people living in the slum area and also poor people. And it will help to find as many covid patients as possible. ” He Congratulated the entire team for during a commendable job.

 

Shri. Dharmesh Jain, Past President, CREDAI MCHI, said we are coordinating with all the Corporators to reach to maximum number of people. In the next days, we would be covering Dadar to South Mumbai, Chandivali to Western Suburbs and Matunga, Sion, Chunnabati & Ghatkoper. We would further extend to Mulund, Vikhroli and then to Thane and Kalyan.
