A note to the teacher

Objectives and tools:

Let us begin with our favourite question. What do we want the children to retain from this chapter when they step out of the classroom?

• The world is one, giant connected village. Our dependence on one another is a force for good. We have to be mindful of our collective impact now. On each other and the environment.
• This connection is made possible due to advancements in communication technology.

• A world so connected is bound to have some problems, but those that can be overcome.
• There are global organizations that have emerged to help the world become a better place.

We have explored the concepts of interdependence and interconnectedness in chapter 9 in detail. Your students should be familiar with these now. This chapter is about extending that understanding to an international level.

The teacher is now a facilitator, asking exciting questions and using innovative resources and activities to help the student take in charge of their own learning.
