A note to the teacher

Objectives and tools:

Let us begin with a simple question. What do we want the kids to take away from the chapter when they step out of the classroom?

We want them to understand that:

  • There are different types of public properties in our country.
  • Public properties demand the same amount of respect and ownership as monuments of national importance.
  • It is our responsibility as active citizens to respect and maintain our public properties as we would our homes or schools.

Listing these points down is a useful way of orienting the students’ learning and our own preparation.

To make this possible, we have the following tools at our disposal:

  • A power point presentation with embedded audio and video files on public properties, communication and libraries.
  • A teachers’ handout describing a beautiful activity suitable for 2-60 children.
  • A class handout for notes.
  • Two worksheets that inspire critical thinking and application.
